Date Posted: 22:02:57 08/04/04 Wed In reply to: Government 's message, "Lake Superior Provincial Park - Monday Aug 16" on 20:25:20 08/04/04 Wed Around Wawa, we can rappel, hike the voyager trail to Magpie falls, camp on lake superior. The Fam and I and Hauenstein and his fam camped on the northern shore on a sandy beach north and west of wawa. Looking down the coast, there were two other campfires, a lighthouse, and the northern lights. So, Sunday night, we can campthere, hike the voyager trail, then practice rappelling on the cliffs of Wawa Lake. Or, we can rent yaks from Naturally Superior Adventures and take a trip to some small islands on Lake Superior. Just some thoughts. By the way. If we leave Hawk Junction, it is $40 round trip Canadian. And by all means, don't tell them about your white gas, etc. The cargo guys and conductor have told us time and again not to tell them about the fuel. They don't care, it is just a scam. The benefits of being a Algoma Central Railway regulars. They have never bothered us about it. (it's not like Isle Royale.) Pathfinder >It sounds like we got shorted a day on the train >schedule (feels like we're traveling in Italy). In the >words of Admiral David Faragut at the battle of Mobile >Bay, "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" > >I propose a day hike/campout at Lake Superior >Provincal Park on the Monday we were originally going >to evacuate, er, leave Agawa Canyon. From all that >I've read, there are some awesome hikes there. Perhaps >we can score a campsite overlooking L Superior from >the massive cliffs that tower over the lake. > >Who's in?
