But in order to get points, we need further information. From an archeological standpoint you are correct. However, I would like to pointout that Mr. William R. Angell, executive and one-time president of Continental Motors Co., purchased much of the island just before the stock market crash and the great depression in an attempt to stop further exploitation of the island. He viewed his enviromental activisim differently than most. He wanted to keep the island as a private hunting preserve. He therefore brought and feed white tails. The soon grew to an uncontrolled population. Eventually the government took over and started hunts to control the population. Today, you may notice that N. Manitou has shorter growth than S. Manitou.
