... I guess Michael did his best especially when pitted against two people who didn’t play fair or by the rules...and who were hell bent on keeping him under the thumb. His brilliant strategies and success on missions made them look good at Oversight and Center and that is why they always demanded 100% containment on missions. But in my opinion it all boiled down to power. Who had it and how much they wanted to hang onto it. Michael and Nikita were their underlings ... and together they were destined to run Section One one day... but only when Operations and Madeline were ready and not before. Relinquishing the power they had was never going to be easy and that may be why they acted the way they did towards Michael and Nikita. Jealousy too may have been a reason to thwart their relationship. Who knows?

That ... plus the whole scenario that the writers.... arrgh!!!! ....introduced of his blood cover wife and child unfortunately saw the demise of the true essence of LFN as we saw in the first two seasons. The show became more focused on the love interest between Michael and Nikita and Madeline and Operations became what others have called the “sex police” ... but that is how the writers developed the show. We didn't mind but it just became a little too convoluted and the unique mission stories suffered. This ultimately led to Michael’s sacrifice for the love of his son and Nikita’s of her father’s wishes and thus the show ended the way it did and NOT how it should have with Michael and Nikita together and both running Section One!

Thanks annie, but I think that my story still has a little way to go. It will still be a while before it is finished, but I’ll be sad too when that happens.
