… I suppose it is a colloquialism of sorts and means a curious, snooping, inquisitive or nosy kind of person. It is a word that describes one who is interested in other people’s business but in an inoffensive way. It describes a person who always has an ear pricked up to hear some gossip or conversation or has an eye on the lookout for happenings going on around them. I think this word describes Walter well.
