I recall Sukie that you had said one of John Wayne's sons (there were/are 7 offspring!) was the stumbling block between H & M being released onto DVD/VHS. One of his sons recently passed away - I can't recall which one. Perhaps this will open the door for it's release? Any thoughts anyone?

Hi, Wini! Yes, my neighbor who is a huge John Wayne fan just told me that it probably will be released on DVD soon. Of course I'm sad to hear that he died, but it will be great to have the movie available again after all these years!

I'll be on the lookout for the DVD - thanks Suky for verifying the info! I can't wait to see it, have heard so much about it, how it is the precursor to the 'disaster films' genre etc. Oh ya, and to have another Bobby flick in my collection too!

John Wayne's oldest son, Michael Wayne, died and now the 4th Grandchild and the production company are questioning who now will have the rights to the High and the Mighty. Warner Brothers also wants a piece. So everything is in the air.
