Jane wrote (in the guestbook): "I've never read on any website any comments about a movie starring Robert Newton called "Snakepit." He plays a psychiatrist in a mental hospital. I believe the leading lady is Maureen O'Hara. Probably filmed in the late '40s but not certain about that. Has anyone else seen this film?"

Susan G. replied, "In response the the question regarding the movie 'The Snakepit', this movie was made in 1948 and starred Olivia DeHavilland, Mark Stevens, Leo Genn and Celeste Holm and took place in a psychiatric facility. I did not see Robert Newton listed in the cast. Is it possible that you are confusing this movie with Robert Newton's 'Obsession'(aka The Hiddle Room)in which he plays a psychiatrist?"

I bet know exactly what the confusion is. Leo Genn looks very much like Robert Newton, and you wouldn't be the first person to mistake the two!
