Hi Jay!

That's great! I've been wanting LJS on DVD for quite some time, not to mention the rest of RN's films.

Thanks for the info!

Your friend,
Trisha :)

I just heard Around the World in 80 Days is out on DVD now, and it includes audio commentary, "featurettes" (??), outtakes, photos, and trailers. I hope it's in widescreen too. Anybody know? If you buy a copy, please let us know if Robert Newton is included in any of the extras.

Also, has anybody seen the new remake? Just wondering how it compares. (I heard it didn't get good reviews.)

I bought a copy of 'Around the World' and it does have outtakes features which do include Robert Newton. However, all of the outtakes are not with dialogue and have music playing throughout. So some of them were kind of hard to figure why they were being redone. I really do not know why they did it that way. It would have been nice to hear what actually took place. It also has some footage of the premier of the movie and comments by Michael Todd and Elizabeth Taylor after the Academy Awards ceremony. However, I believe that Robert Newton had probably passed away by the time the movie premiered (very sad). It also has footage of Michael Todd's big (I think it was) 1 year premier party of the movie. Very extravagant! There are other features also including a commentary.
It is a very nice version of the movie and I would recommend getting it. It is rather inexpensive (I believe I paid $19.95 at Best Buys)and a nice addition to your DVD and Robert Newton collection.
