I have for several months been trying to obtain a DVD copy of Treasure Island starring Robert Newton, but not the Disney version. Susan was good enough to point me in the way of Long John Silver's Return to Treasure Island, I have bought this, but this is not what I am looking for.
I what I am looking for is called Teasure Island, starred Robert Newton and was made in the early 50's. Can anyone please help.

The only version of 'Treasure Island' that Robert Newton was in was the Disney version in 1950. There have been many versions of Treasure Island made before and after that date but they did not star Robert Newton (could you be thinking of the 1934 version with Wallace Beery as LJS?). The other movies in which he portrayed Long John Silver were 'Long John Silver's Return to Treasure Island' (which you already knew about), and the TV series 'The Adventures of Long John Silver'. The Disney version of 'Treasure Island' is very easy to obtain on DVD or VHS as well as the 'Return to Treasure Island and some episodes of the TV series. I hope this may help you a little.
