I would tend to disagree. I think it makes no difference if one person has all the solos or ten people do. I think for my part at least if you are the leader of an ensemble you owe it to them to allow them to give the most musically adept performance they can give. It might happen that you have a soloist who just by far outstrips everyone else. Now I am not saying that that person will get every solo but depending on how many there are that person might get a majority of them. I also always think you should audition your solos and give them to the best person to sing it. Also when we pick out music with a solo in it we do not like to admit it but we are already thinking of who is going to fill that role so we already have a preconceived notion of who the solo will go to that is just the way we as humans are. At least thats how I feel about it.
