Subject: What shall we gain?

Student Teaching

I am in the process of creating a list of things I would like to gain from my student teaching experience this fall. I would just like to see what others hope to take from this experience so I can help make the most of my student teaching.

I am hoping to gain knowledge in two distinct areas. First, I am anxious to observe the nuts and bolts of day to day activities; to see the planning and follow thru as it unfolds. Secondly, I want to grasp the big picture. It will be interesting to see how what we've learned in class applies to real-life and conversely, what we haven't learned but need to be prepared to accomplish. I am hoping to leave my student teaching experience with confidence knowing that I can be a successful music educator and that if I don't have the answers I at least know where to go to find them.
