I too believe that a teacher should keep teaching until health issues come up or there is no longer a desire to teach. There will come a time in any teacher's career that no matter how much he or she wants to teach, it is no longer possible to do so.

I agree. I think you should teach until you don't have the urge to do it anymore. If you are thinking about money on the other hand though, after 37 or so years of teaching I hear that you are better off retiring because i guess you actually start to lose money if you continue. This is something that I heard so if I'm wrong I just heard it through the grapevine.
