I do not think that there should necessarily be an ensemble for students who just want to get their credit and move on. I think that to be in ensemble requires a lot of discipline and willingness to work together. If the ensemble consists of a group that does not want to be there, nothing will be accomplished and it will be a waste. When asked to pass a student when they do not deserve it…. I think that no matter what the situation this is a no brainer: If they don’t deserve it, they don’t pass. Courses that are geared more toward students just getting their credit should be an overview of music as a whole. The students should have some experience going to concert and understanding some of the history of music as well as its impact on society. I feel that this would not be too hard for a student to pass if they just did their work

I don't think that there should be an ensemble for students who just need to satisfy their arts credit. They won't want to work. In high school, those students who weren't into music, took art classes to get credit.

If the student does not deserve the grade, then they don't get the passing grade. It is the coach and the student's problem if they can't play in the next game because they failed a class.
