try this trick:you say your students use there fingers to count (solution) give them more fingers, with a simple & cheap addaptive visual tool (popsicle sticks) by placing them in the hands of the student with the problem and placing the sticks on the table with numbers on each stick layed out in numeric order then by removing or adding to the number of sticks the student should get a better grasp of the concept of addition and subtraction (B T, D T)
