I have tried this with some of my students. divide the work into small sections. Before you start a new section review the first section.Repetition helps. To hold her interest in the book when she is reading, follow the 'Golden Rule' which is, helping her right away with the words she can't read. Your aim should be to make her feel good about herself so praise her for small accomplishments when reading.
