Date Posted: 15:21:36 02/03/04 Tue In reply to: Ashton 's message, "Re: ~*~*arrival.*~*~" on 13:49:54 02/03/04 Tue (OOC- yes, references- me and James both read the books, and use the names when we lack the mad name-creation abilities (usually at early morning hours). the origional name we had for Fire Song was really crap tastic (i think it was something that made me shoot water out my nose when i heard it), and we figured that he was kinda similar to the other one as far as general appearance, so we used the name. the name Ma'ar came out of a name generator, but we failed to make that particular connection before it had already been posted O.o as for Aya and Vree, we were lacking other names at the time, so figured why not. Treyvan was just an awesome name x] i couldnt resist. i had to use it somewhere- it was my personal crusade. lets see..... Fire Birds not based on the stories, actually- i have a species in my own stories called Fire Birds who are descendants of the phoenix races, so that is where that particular reference came from. Companions ARE one of the possible bonds in the game, but members never usually get them O.o the reason behind that is that we needed a reason to drive Zandrae insane at the end of the Ashavarian quest, but they dont really do anything here. there were a few other name references that we whipped out at 2 in the morning when we couldnt think of anything, but thats about it. as far as ideas go, we haevent used any of those O.o the inspiration (/name) for the FireStarter came from the movie of the same name, but in the game has roots in ancient magics and rituals. James has yet to read Brightly Burning, so i doubt that he would make that connection, and the name was taken from the Suikoden series, from the most awesome optional character who is also a pain in the ass to get..... anywho, you will notice through time that MANY of the names are taken from novels, games, movies, etc. but we make our own plots and personalities. i forget where, but the name for Karen came from a novel that a friend of mine was reading.)
