Two men, who allegedly held a pair of American tourists against their will on the East Coast, reappear in the Gisborne District Court this morning. The two men aged 19 and 20 have been charged with kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

A five-year-old boy drowned, a diver was killed by a boat propeller and a man died after falling off a wharf yesterday, in a tragic afternoon of water-related deaths.
The fatalities in Auckland and Opotiki happened just a day after Water Safety New Zealand announced drownings were at their lowest level since records began 24 years ago.
