Today i read about how the Russia's two liberal parties won't be participating int he upcoming 2004 elections because they have no chance of winning against candidates loyal to putins parliament. There is no chance of victory for the liberals because of putins control over the media. In addition in another article the Russian president Vladimir Putin announced that he will be running for a second term. He said that growing birth rate is encouraging but poverty is a big problem and he also said that the government will be deciding on new migration laws. Futher more Chechen rebels attacked the village of Galatli in the Russian republic of Dagestan and took 8 people hostage. The rebels haven't been caught because they fled to the mountains. Russia war against Chechenya begun in 1999 when fighters seized 2 villages in Dagestan. Lastly some intresting headlines were Chechen Rebels Kill Nine, Abduct Four, Bomb Rocks Central Moscow, and Russian Train Bombing Deaths Reach 41.
