France Hikes Cigarette Prices Again.

In the Last year France has infuriated smokers by rising cigarette prices 3 times in one year. France is one of the most expensive countries for smokers in Europe. The average price for a pack is an astonishing $6.25. Prices have risen 40% in a year because of three tax rises which where put in place to avoid the 66,000 deaths a year smoking causes in France.

Five Dead in French Floods, Thousands Flee.

In southeastern France five people have died from high winds and serious flooding. Forecasters warned of further downpours, as the floods were doing everything from blocking roads to disrupting rail services. From this more than 9,000 people abandoned their homes.

French Rabbi Attacked in Street.

A Rabbi named Michel Serfaty was recently attacked in a suburb of Paris. The government is determined to fight anti-Semitism in the country. Several men pushed Rabbi Michel Serfaty who was on his way to synagogue on October 17. One of the attackers allegedly got out of his car and punched the rabbi in the face.
