You have outgrown and blown out the sandals I bought before I started writing. The last couple of months have been insanely busy.

I believe you are psychic.

A couple of weeks ago, out of nowhere, you asked for a lullabye my father used to sing. The next day, I got a pretty good sized and very unexpected paycheck. After I puked and put the money in the bank - and I mean right after - my mom called to tell me that dad was really sick and the doctors were giving up.

So, I booked us two plane tickets - for dirt cheap - for the next day. And, at bedtime, I told you to get a good night's sleep because we were going to Oklahoma.

Why Oklahoma?

To see your grandmother.

And Granddaddy?

I hope so.

We're going to see him. He's not going to die, you know.

And he didn't. He sat up when he saw you. And he's getting better every day.

Such is the power of cute.

Just don't ever again try to play hide and seek in the Dallas airport. Or any airport.
