Today is Samson's first birthday. He's napping, and his dad is baking a cake. We've testfired the webcams I got my folks, my brother and sister-in-law, and myself for Christmas so that Samson could have a birthday videochat with far-away family. I'm doing laundry.

I've started to take for granted that there are these tiny socks in the wash, that there are itty bitty blue jeans with snap up legs in with my medium sized blue jeans and XH1's giant jeans.

Samson naps on the couch, and when he wakes up, he gets up and finds me. I've stopped sending breastmilk to daycare. Samson still nurses, but he won't take a bottle. Instead, he holds out a sippy cup and says, "Juice! Juice!" Too soon, he'll stop nursing. Too soon, he'll want Happy Meals.

Happy Birthday, Samson! I hope you like cake!
