>CRAYONS!!!!

And they are beautiful tools that we take for granted!

I think it was The Artist's Magazine recently had an article about an artist that worked completely in crayon, and his (I think?) work was just mindblowing! He talked about how we feel like we need to dismiss the crayon as a thing of childhood made solely for children, and that's a huge loss to crayons as a medium. He also pointed out that using crayon unleashes in him a time when the pressure wasn't on the finished product, necessarily, but the art of creating itself---that it's a very freeing medium.

I happen to suck with them, but ;).

My dad just mentioned the other day how much my mom always loved to color. And that reminded me of all of the times she'd recommend that we go do it, only to have her grab a coloring book and sit down with us. She used us as a cover ;).

Tell Samson to keep sharing his crayons with you! *smile*
