What you did, it's just loaded with so much more meaning than someone who might have added something to the collection but with little thought or 'trouble' in doing so, and I hope that looking back on this, it's that which stands out for you in the end. It's anybody who didn't get the power of that kind of thing that would have something to feel bad about, but definitely not you. That kind of stuff has no price and is the most valuable of all. So no self-hatred, okay? It's another one of those times I wish everybody who sees you for all you are was a mirror that could reflect that back at you so that you knew it, too.
