Your mother is one of the great character's of the world--at least of our town. I remember you calling up in High School because you and your mom were having an argument and you needed a third opinion. One was, Can pregnant women get vaccinated for mumps? (you ended up phoning a Dr's office on that one). Another was, What are the Irish famous for---red hair or black hair? Tough issues, indeed.
So, the vision of her on her death bed, then having a speedy recovery as you get all her chores done and soup simmering on the stove, is very enlightening (and gives me some ideas to use on my family).

I like that my family can laugh at my mother's 'momisms' and hope that my family see me in the same light, because
I have great plans to keep things stirred up--
short of being cruel.

I have to let the frustration settle
sometimes before I can see my mother again after
she has upset me or run me through the wringer once too many times. I am trying to be tougher skinned and lately, she has been being sweeter.

Keitha is right--take it with a grain of salt. We are
so lucky to have them with us.
