.:[Black beast bursts into an open meadow, sweat lathering upon his hide. The lady aboard pulls him up, and though he blows profusely, still he fights the hold, until a harsh word garners his attention and he becomes somewhat more obedient. Eyes cast about for the duke, lost breifly in a patch of trees, though she could hear his steed's hoofbeats, and suspected they had arrived at the same time. With barely a thought, she slips off the back of the stallion, loosening his girth and leaving the saddle in the shade, saddlecloth hung from a low branch to dry off some. Careful not to trip over her skirts, she walks the beast to the river, where he sips sparingly, before leading him about, allowing him to cool off.]:.
.:[The beast snorts, head thrown high, breaths returning to their normal state swiftly. His lady kept him fit, and now his hide itched, sweat drying. Wrenching his reins from her grip, he trots to the river, finding a sandy place, partially submerged. Delighted, he snorts and lowers himself, grunting in pleasure as the coarse sand scrubbed away the sweat and grime, then moves further into the river, sipping at the water occaisionally, allowing the clear liquid to wash away the sand, and cool his skin deliciously. Like a playful colt, he rears, hooves striking out to send a cascade of water toward his mistress, a game they had played often on hot days.]:.
.:[Noblewoman scowls as her horse escapes her grasp, having breifly forgotten his penchant for swimming. She watches as he rolls, expression turning to a scowl as he moves deeper into the water. Too late she saw his intentions, and gasps as the water strikes, mortified before the duke. In spite of herself however, the beginnings of a giggle rise, along with the colour in her cheeks. A pity she had not recalled this particular trick in time...]:.
