At a full gallop, the horse is sweating and shaking his head. The lord crouches over the stallion's neck, urging him on. Steel-blue eyes twinkle as the wind whips across his face, sending his dusky-blue cloak billowing in the breeze. He slows the frothy horse, lightening his grip on the reins. Turning in the saddle, the sandy-blonde man attempts to catch a glimpse of Marnie...Had he really beaten her? He grinned, patting the heaving horse on the neck... Subject Author Date Arriving behind Darian, her eyes smile as she sees him, and realizing he beat her, she slowed Talla to a stop at his side. "Well, I do believe you've won, but I'm not a sore loser, so congratulations!" she said, laughing a little. Rubbing the mare's neck, Marnie smiled at the man beside her. (NT) Marnie Siroun 12:54:21 04/08/01 Sun He grins, swinging the horse around. "Thanks - I'm no hot=head either. Congrats yourself. Good race." He chuckles, looking down at the reins in his hand. (NT) Darian 15:14:31 04/08/01 Sun Before a silence approaches, the young woman swings off of the mare, gathering the reins and leading her to the river. Letting her drink from the river, loosening the saddle straps a bit, marnie walks to anearby tree and sits under it, casting a glance backwards at Darian and Excalibur. (NT) -- Marnie Siroun, 18:09:14 04/08/01 Sun He smiles, slipping off. Landing solidly, he removes the saddle as well. Excalibur snorts, moving to a nearby creek. Dropping the worn saddle, he slips over beside Marnie, settling not far off with a sigh. Looking up at the cloudless sky, he comments, "Lovely day. Haven't seen such a nice crisp spring day." (NT) -- Darian, 16:37:16 04/12/01 Thu Casting an eye at the skies, Marnie nods. "Yeah, very lovely," she replies, and almost peaceful mist settling itself around the young woman. Not questioning anything but her luck, she turns to give the man beside her a sparkling smile, before taking a seat upon the ground. He looks over, smiling. "Ah - an occupation? Nothing much. Family money does sustain my wanderer's lust...Truth be told, I am on a quest - or I am the hunted. I know not which." Instead, she straightens out her dress a bit, and turns to gaze out at the river. "A quest eh? Sounds exciting!" she remarked, smiling. "Look," he pointed to the dragons, "There seems to be some battle...Perhaps I should take you back to the Tor...Dragons can be fickle." Excalibur whinnies nervously, trotting over. Darian places the saddle on the steed's back, buckling it hurriedly. "Ah, I didn't doubt that for a second. I'll join you as far as the castle...I have to look into something. - Unless you don't mind, that is." He mounts his horse lightly, turning him in the direction of the path... (NT) -- Darian, 11:30:40 04/18/01 Wed Pushing the straps together on the loose saddle over her mare's back, Marnie quickly climbs aboard and gathers the reins. "I don't mind at all," she says in reply, looking towards him. Pulling the reins to turn Trella the right direction, she casts one last glance backwards, then lightly taps the side of the horse to catch up to Darian.
