In reply to: Mercedes 's message, "She sighs, relief flooding her slender physique..." on 14:39:44 04/18/01 Wed

*eyes darken to a storm-grey, indicating her unease and worry. She had told none of her exile, for strangers did not seem the type to divulge such information with. But Mercedes... her cousin...* Have you not heard? I had thought my father would tell yours in his triumph at ridding himself of me. *she sighs, linking her arm with Mercedes'. She knew she had spoken sharply, and features soften* Forgive me, I suppose I still feel betrayed. Perhaps I should start at the beginning. From my birth, my father held a grudge against me for my hair. It was neither a dull brown like his, nor a blond like my mothers. Instead it was a fiery auburn, and he blamed her of being unfaithful and me for being the product of such a sin. He loved his children, save me. Soon enough mother too sided against me, because she blamed me for causing the rift between herself and her husband. My siblings would not associate with me, or bring upon them the wrath of my lord father. Jon was different, though. My older brother, do you remember him? He found that my father was to have me pulled from my bed in the midnight hours, set upon the most worthless nag he had and sent from the castle. Jon knew it was inevitable, and so helped me. He woke me and explained the way things had turned out, then led me to the stables. He had saddled Tryst for me, and had packed food and clothing as well. I am sure father was irate the next morning, for he had his heart set on breaking Tryst or killing her trying. She would tolerate me, but not him. I think that is what gave him such insistance in breaking her. *she breaks off, watching the party in the distance through misty eyes* I realize you probably knew much of the story, but the gaps needed to be filled in...you needed to know...

With downcast gaze she continues to listen to Arya’s account, rouge lips pursed. Had they not told her? Mercedes19:04:16 04/19/01 Thu
