Hope charteris was the niece of my Grandmother and was born Elizabeth Anne Brown 25/12/1888 in Charters Towers.
The people of the town organised various events to finance her musical studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London where her guarantor was my Grandfather.
I have her queensland exercise book with various newspaper cuttings of shows and events where she entertained both in England and in Charters Towers.
She travelled to and from Australia and formed a double act with an Eve Dickson appearing with Fred Emney in Music Hall.
I have no record after 1925 or of her marriage details although I do believe she became Mrs Robertson.
Her father originated from Wales,was a coal miner and eventually,Manager of a Gold Mining company in Charters Towers.
