Subject: They died so young

Im looking at the bios of Maudi Darrell, Lily Hanbury & Gaynor Rowland and they died so young. Lily's death is explained but Maudi & Gaynor both are listed as dying from 'appendicitis'. A lot of women in those days seem to have died of appendicitis. After reading the bios of Evelyn Nesbit I now know that 'appendicitis' is often used as a code word for abortion.
