I just read the message by "Very Confused." I too have a lump just under the bikini line of my underwear on the left side. It's about the size of a thumb nail. It's deep under the skin. I have felt an itchy soreness there for several weeks but I ignored it thinking my underwear or clothing was too tight. Funny I didn't think how unusual that the soreness would only happen on one side. I didn't feel the lump until I was shaving in the shower. I went to the doctor immediately. He couldn't really tell me what it was. He said that cancer in that area is not common at all. He told me to make another appointment in a month to see if it changes in shape or size at all.

Should I be concerned? Is this more common than my doctor thinks? Thanks so much in advance for your help.

Erica,

I have just joined this group and I have and still am learning so much. The one thing I can tell you for sure is do not wait. I did and even though it has been a couple of years had I did something about it then I probably wouldn't be dealing with this precancerous lesion now. Dont ignore yourself. If you feel something is wrong and those doctors are not telling what you think is right or you just feel ify ( when in doubt check it out) get a second and third and fourth until you are happy with whats going on with your body.I didnt go by this back then but I will for now on. Its your body and its the only one you got and will have.
