I am scheduled for a CUSA for VIN, I can't find anything online about this form of surgery. I have had a couple of laser surgerys for the same problem (awful post-op pain) and the doctor said this CUSA will not be as bad. I do not know if he only meant that it does not burn the skin and not so "messy" afterward or is it less painful? He said I would still be out of work for a couple of weeks or more like the last laser surgery. I do not know why, if this surgery is so much better. Is it painful after,and for how long? Do you have to lie spread-eagle for 2 weeks? Does he prescibe pain meds or just tylenol? It seems like there have not been many of these done. Please let me know, I am sooo nervous and feel like the doctor did not really explain it. What are the postop instructions? Thanks, Carie
