Hello,

I need some information.

I had some post menopausal (about 2 years post menopause) spotting) and had an untrasound that showed endometrial thickening (1 cm).

I was scheduled for a D&C in a surgical center ($9000 for the surgery center fee alone) but it was canceled when the pre-op ECG came back abnormal.

I have just been through two weeks of anxious waiting to find out that the ECG was improperly administered and that my heart is fine.

I have a friend who also experienced post menopausal bleeding (1 1/2 yr. post menopause). Yesterday I went with her to an ultrasound appt. (her result was 13mm). She has insurance that starts after the first $5000. In the past she has had surgery for fibroids, endometriosis and had one ovary removed.

I am wondering if anyone has had an inaccurate ultrasound.

I am also wondering if there is any way to avoid a surgery
center and anasthesia. I have been told by my GYN that a biopsy will not be enough.

Both my friend and I have trouble with speculums
and I suppose it would be difficult in an office setting to do a D&C.
I do know that ppl have colonoscopies with Versed and Valium.

Please, any inforamation is appreciated. This seems like a drastic procedure for a 1% chance of uterine cancer.

Thank you
