Parker was ultimatly confused by Peyton's actions as his now furrowed brow expressed. His southern roots had led him to believe what he had said was an offering of friendship. Back in his small-town Lusianna dwelling the neighbors often gathered for barbeques, was it so different in Mississippi that a friend-ship offering was made into a put-into-class action? He was not poor by any means, but he was also not rich. He had just enough to get by in life without having to scrounge together; Parker had worked hard for what he had, and if anything Peyton's actions almost bristled him. He, for one, was not about to take for granedt of what he had, what he had earned. "No, your not fine," he said softly, heaving his own sigh. He looked up at the house, had he done wrong trying to help a friend in need? Only moments ago they had been sitting, nearly falling in...love. Now.. Now that was a mere whisp of the past Parker could only grasp. "I didn't mean to offend you," He began to explain, trying to force confusion from his voice. "I just meant.. If your hungry, we should do something about that. Sort of like, you were cold so I lent you my jacket. It's.." he sighed, "It's what one does when one feels that they know another well enough and care about them, their health, and their entire situation. When we met at the club and went to the park, that feeling began to grow. Continued to grow until it was so strong that I thought I was helping you. Making a simple offer. I meant no offence to you," His voice was steady and his blue eyes locked upon hers, shine begining to dull. Was he so repulsive to her that she couldn't accept his offers? The thought alone was almost too much for him to bear. The girl he had considered the possible girl of his dreams- turning him down flat.
