There's not much difference between Canadian Step and Irish Step... however Canadian originates from the French, and it mainly comes from Acadia (NS), Cape Breton, Ottawa Valley, and a few parts of New Brunswick. The only differences I can really think of, is that it's a bit more relaxed and the basic step (shuffle step) is more like tap dancing... there's not alot of leg-crossing going on. When it comes down to it, there's not much difference between Canadian and Irish- they pretty much come from the same basic roots.
