To answer your question, YES! We must be born of God's Spirit in order to go to Heaven. We become born again when we receive Christ as Savior. A person who has received Christ Jesus as their Savior receives the Holy Spirit upon their conversion. The Holy Spirit takes abode within the believer the moment the person receives Christ.
