In reply to: Tyrsis 's message, "Arrival" on 05/22/05 4:02:44pm Sun

The door opened quickly to the sacred chambers, letting the two guards and Tyrsis in, bearing the previous High Dragon of the Escalvone. Damuthca's body limp, an occasional twitch of a muscular spasm as the red aura fluxated brightly , but only a brief flicker of a candle in the wind, as it dimmed once more.
The two guards were about to announce and give a brief explaination , but whatever conversation the men were in with the Emperor, who sat farthest away from the door, ended aruptly. The one eyed lord leapt up to his feet, and pointed to the Emperor, who sat crossed leg , at perfect ease, sipping a class of tea. Nothing stirred, or showed surprized by this new set of events. His clothing still not having been mended from the previous engagement with Tyrsis, he only smiled underneath his cowl as an accusing finger pointed his way.

" I knew there was treachery behide this man, High Dragon Damuthca would never so easily abandon his pos... " He started, gaining energy and fervor as he went on, using dramatic , overly exaggerated gestures to further weave people into his line of thought, drawing them up with his powerful body language, however, he was stopped by another Lord.

Sipping tea much like the Emperor, but slowly setting the cup down as he only stared at the one eyed Lord , he stopped his peer in mid sentence. Though not half as large, or as imitimidating as the older lord, he sat there calmly, confidently.

" Unless he found someone who would be stronger, and better for the post of High Dragon. This Emperor bares the sword, and the sword did not reject him. " He said, matter of factly, taking a small sip out of his tea as if to disregard the others coming argument as trivial. The other lords, a few nodded, and a few held blank faces. It resembled so much a poker game as they refused to show their hands...or how much they were putting into the pot.

The air grew cold, and none of them spoke for a moment. A few fidgeting with perhaps even more tension than a few moments ago. However, the silence was ended, surprizingly, as the Emperor sat down his cup of tea, sighing as he savored the last of the delicious liquid, and stared straight at Tyrsis.

" Tell them what happened Tyrsis. We all here deserve to know the truth of Damuthca's plight. You, who care for him so much, nay, love the High Dragon..a former exile, tell us your verison of what occured..of how I came to have this sword. " He said, benign except his words held a bit of poison , subtle as the blade seemed to never leave its verbal sheath. Smiling at the end of his statement, he sat there, wisps of black hair slowly hinting from beneath the shroud over his face as all the lords turned toward Tyrsis.

Their faces were blank, but the one eyed lord only looked to his fallen lord, his right hand slowly inching toward the handle of his sword. To him it was simple, his friend, his King, had been harmed, and it was only right to avenge him. However, he held himself in check to hear Tyrsis, to give himself some kind of concrete reason for the attack.

The air grew tense, as they all waited for Tyrsis, the gentle thin clothing of the lords barely caressing as they moved about. The only one, truly unconcerned, seemed to be the man farthest away from Tyrsis, with the Dragon laying across his lap, one hand, the left, laying gently over its handle, as if petting it.

" Tell us Tyrsis..."
