It was easy to see the WeaveDaughter's mate, and just as easy to intercept. The large crimson and gold hawk hovered in front of Johan, forcing him to stop.

"Be careful where you fly Guardian's Mate, and keep one eye fixed firmly upon the ground. The Snakemen hate you even as they hate your mate and to strike you down would strike a blow at her as well."

The hawk, obviously one of the Weave's protectors, shifted his wings and kited off away from Johan, his message delivered. It was up to Johan to heed it.
