"Finally." At the slight smile she almost smiled herself. Almost. He still pretended he didn't enjoy seeing her.

She crossed the room and sat beside him, also looking at the mural, studying the lines and details as she always did. Inside of those threads, he found the Goddess. She found memories that no one else seemed to share.

"Its hard for people like us to tolerate peace. Aphrodite has had a litter of 'somethings'. Apparently she found a lot of willing mates in Hogoromo, but despite their oddities the younglings are healthy. I think that she will be a good mother." Now she smiled, remembering a young Aphrodite curled in her lap. The smile slowly faded. "Did you know that Kami Dan'Shir has been missing for nearly ten years now?"

She didn't look at his face, it was better to judge his reaction if she didn't look at him. He would hide less.
