There was a long moment of silence, and quiet.
Then Dias would feel something cold brush over him, a shiver. His request was voiced, and in order to show him, he would have to see it.
And live it. And he requested it.
It was the deep of night, the wind gently brushing past as the world's breath hi up on the west tower. Emi was standing there watching over the fading lights of those that were leaving. The Escavlone, and those that had chosen to follow. Stars were bright high on the horizon just about where Emi's eyes sat, watching the torches of those she had driven out disappear into the dark. They lingered before fading, until she was alone. The air was still purfumed with the smell of sour sweetness of dying rose petals. Regret hung deep in her. Her brash moment of terror and rage and she had driven them all away. What was left of the humans was far off, and what was left of the guard were meager and sparce, circling the castle below in rounds. There were even fewer knights. Those that were dead loyal to the crown, the crown that lay in the form of a swan within the walls of the castle still.
Emi turned, and things froze for a brief flicker of time. She saw a person with skin darker than the night and embers that glowed faintly as eyes before it all resumed, and the sliding of a sword through her stomach and out her back.
Then the searing pain, though it was drown driefly by the words that would forever haunt her in her death.
"You payment, for all the work you did for us."
Then the pain returned as the sword was pushed up all the way to the hilt into her stomach and pulled up slightly, slicing through her vertically to allow for no way for her to survive.
"May you find the peace you stole away."
Emi's eyes raised back up to her assassin, and though her vision was blurred she knew it was a man, although be it human or elven, she couldn't tell. Then she was pushed over the side of the tower ledge to freefall. In that fifteen second fall while her vision faded she felt intense regret, and sorrow, her only thought being 'I..don't want to die.'
Crushing pain overwhelmed her when she struch the ground, and the next thing she knew she was standing over her own body as the sun was coming up. Guards had found her, and had brought Tyrsis to see. Then Wyrd had come and removed the sword that had slain her from her body and shattered it, using a shard to kill another lingering assassin in the shadows. None of them noticed her standing there, not even the creature that could devour souls.
Fear overtook then, and she fled to her room, in which she stayed...
Until this day.
