Cyrus had high tailed it out of there at the first opportunity, and headed straight for the dwarven caverns, first snagging a jug of spirits from his father's table, just to make sure his welcome was nothing short of pleasant.
As it turned out, he was very well recieved even before they knew about the spirits he had brought with him, and they ushered him straight to the craftsmen's hall, which was where he needed to go.
There, he found Regran Gemblade, the exact dwarf he was looking for, technically, because of the fact that his mother had been adopted into the dwarven clan a long time ago, Regran was his fourth cousin, and welcomed him as nothing less, gripping him in a bone crushing hug.
"Ey, not seein much of ye lately, lad. Mebbe ye should be comin' round more often!" The dwarf said, clapping him on the arm before taking the offered jug of spirits. "Ah, so ye're here on an errand eh? What kin I do for ye, yer father need a new order fer th' troops? That be the case, ye'll be needin to see someone else"
Cyrus sat on an unused workbench and shook his head, "No Regran, this is something I need. I need you to er... well, I need you to carve something... a big something, something nice... er... for.... er... a girl."
Regran almost fell out of his chair hearing this, and then, taking a swallow from the jug, burst out laughin, "Eh! So the little mossbird is growin' into a big mossbird, alright... show me whatcha want done, and I'll do it, but its still gonna cost ye."
An hour later, Cyrus was swinging a pick down in the mine.
And he would be there for four hours a day for the next three weeks, even though he'd be able to do what he wanted sooner, if he found the right gem.
