Myuler sighed, and looked around his house. He looked at Tyrsis long after she went up stairs and the place where he had last looked at her.
"So little time, yet gone ye fateful spirits away from home, never to return."
Another sigh, and Myuler soundlessly opened the door to Vell's room where he and Ryiln lay napping. Silence was purposeful, and he gently brushed their heads with only the feathery touches of his fingers and they were gone, to wake, somewhere far away, Vell would know where. It was no longer Aurora. The city seemed a dreadful place outside his windows. He returned to the couch, and Aphrodite was gone. She was upstairs, nuzzling her muzzle against Tyrsis' hand for reassurence.
From his window flew birds, with notes to be taken where their wings would bring them. To the elves, with Tyrsis' omnious warning. To the Escavlone, even if they would not read it. To the Dwarves, even if they would not heed it. To the Forgotten living with the Dan'Shir, even if they would not believe it.
Each note opened and read produced a cingular portal, a blue shimmering gateway to a random world, a random plane. No two groups would end up in the same place. It would be up to those who wished to stay and fight and who wished to heed the warning and leave to take the portal or not. No one could be forced into choice.
It took Myuler a few hours of whipping out a portal spells to notes and sending them to all those he knew might heed the warning. Even those few birds that might happen upon humans would give notes to them. No one needed to suffer the fate of death. A bird would land on Dawnsfire's shoulder, out somewhere, with the same note of warning, and a subtle plea to heed it.
After all the notes were sent, Myuler walked almost reminisingly around his house. He found Zephyr on his bed, sleeping. Gently he curled a note into her hand before kissing her on the forehead and sent her away to join Vell and Ryiln.
But he was not to go.
He sighed once more, before going up to the second floor, and sat on the bed that behind Tyrsis, the keen eye of Aphrodite looking knowingly and very sadly at him.
"I'm as ready as I'll ever be, for if I'm not ready now, I'll never be."

Zephyr's note:
[Zephyr,
By the time you read this, you'll have woken up in a different place. I don't know how this will seem to you, but I want you to know I feel it's best for your safety, no matter how you might want argue. I'll hopefully be there with you soon, but if I'm not, just know that you've made me really happy after all these years of being alone. You've made my world a brighter place and less dreary than he had been before. I have a feeling that after 8000 years, I may just have lived my final day, but I'm going to go down with a bang if it happens.
Love you.
Myuler.]

Fingers brushed lovingly over the silken feathers of a swan's neck and back. The bird crooned mournfully.
"Shush. It will be over soon."
