Raaine had a soft spot for kids, it was one of the things two of her three personalities agreed on and the third no longer existed. Kids were supposed to be protected, kept safe and hiding in her own home were six children who only had one Forgotten parent. Four had elven and two had human parents....and all of them were terrified. When the guards had knocked on her door the children went and hid in the bedroom, which fortunately was hidden from view by a dividing wall.

She'd met the guards with her sword in hand, the warrior half of her in full control....with her rational adult half fully supporting her. Unlike most with split personalities, hers were able to communicate easily with each other and they'd decided to hide the children in defiance of Emi's childish and paranoid orders. The guards knew her reputation for protecting children, as well as her ruthlessness in battle and most recognized the subtle signs that showed she was in a fighting mood. Her wings, orange splattered black were slightly extended and bladed, her eyes were green-gold and slitted like a cat instead of gold ringed green. Add that she was armed with a mithril sword and sported several daggers both visible and concealed and it made the woman a one person fighting machine that didn't show mercy to her enemies. She was nice, she'd only growled at them to vacate the area before she started removing them by force...and in pieces. Wisely they withdrew, unlike their fellows who'd approached Wyrd with the order to leave they weren't ready to have their life's blood spilled on the ground for something this petty. Raaine grinned at their retreating backs, though she rather guessed they'd bring more guards to remove the children. Of course the only way they'd get the children was over her cold, dead body.
