Impazaeal walked through the halls of the Matron mother's house. Several of the few drow that escaped Hogorom's wrath moving about to their normal duties as their master, who waited until , with a brief psionic scan, that none were about, opened a secret window in reality that could only manifest in this spot on the entire planes of existance.
Stepping thru as if falling thru a pool of water as reality exploded about, trying to heal the rending of its neigh indesctrucble nature as the entire room misted over and simply stretched out to a pinpoint into infinity as he reappeared within another section of the castle, the warping of reality preventing all attempts to scry on his person for a small amount of time.
It was always enough, as he went to his Phylactery.
It was a lavish room. With huge tapestries hanging from the wall, showing ancient civilizations across thousands of planes. Jewelery, gold, and countless amounts of relics from the past was idly laying about, like some dragon's hoarde as Impazaeal walked across the lush carpet toward the altar that held his phylacetery, the powerful Star Sapphire.
The gem pulsed, containing the very essence of Impazaeal now, protecting him within the infinite power of the jewel that could grant any wish to the one that asked it. Next to it lay the sister jewel which still flared with the power within. Light played across the smooth surface of the altar as Impazaeal slowly ran his hand over the phylactery. The foresight, a brief glimpse into the future, had barely saved his life from the beast known as Wyrd.
But was it enough? It had tax his energies , and he was still not even within the full amounts of his energy as the Star Sapphire was slowly recovering from the massive surge that was required to copy the essensce within , and place it near the stop where the previous one could no longer be felt by the jewel.
The light flared brilliantly, filling the entire room with a near daylike brightness as the shadows played almost demonically along the wall, the treasures simply multiplying the blinding gem.
Impazaeal shieled his eyes with a small hiss of frustration. This was abnormal to what he knew about the devices. His ember eyes narrowing as he regarded the barely visible gem thru the powerful light.
" What are you reacting to? Did something occur to the one that brought you to being? " He asked, wondering if he had missed something critical after leaving Hogoromo. Turning away as the light did not relent, he went to return to Hogoromo and invesitgate.
Impazaeal's eyes widened in shock, the pupils turning to small dots of oblivion as he could only gaze, following the bloodred path of the carpet as at the massive archway, two angels with their palms joined at the top of the door as the light shone on them, making them seem almost luminious, was one shrouded in shadow.
After the intial shock cleared, Impazaeal smirked.
" I am impressed. You truly are a man of suprizing talent and luck, young Kami. However, tis foolish to expect to fight me here, where all my magical devices, potent protections are within reach, not to mention an army of drow assassins and sorcerers, when you can't even be my equal within your own castle walls. Or did you come here for another purpose? Perhaps...to join me? " Impazaeal laughed as the elven man, and it was indeed Kami, removed his hood and adjusted the cloak away from his arms as his silver eyes, glowing with an inner light, his face a mask of pure focus.
Impazaeal took a step, a delicate ebon hand, decievingly delicate at least, took a handful of gold off a very beautiful dresser, the metal turning immediately white hot and then evaporated, as Impazaeal went down a few steps leading down to the door way, still chuckling at the foolishness of this elf.
" Enough. I can read your thoughts quite easily, and I do not have time to linger, something is occuring at Hogoromo, most likely the death of your precious Zenra. Good bye, Dan'Shir. " He said, curtly as he made a few gestures, and the same mental domination effect screeched thru the room, making the air vibrate as it slammed into Kami, sending him hurling against a wall as his cloak was ripped to shreds from the blow. Psionic energy weaving thru clothing, armor, and flesh simutanously as Kami roared, his face contorting in rage.
" Ah! Does it feel good Kami? The fruits of your labo...wha..? " Impazaeal blinked, his taunts ending as he saw Kami's body shimmered briefly , as if eclipsed into shadow as the roars of rage continued.
Six red eyes gleamed from that shadow, and roared. Energy that could only be known as Forbiddion exploding into the room into a flurry of tendrils that enveloped all the light and banished it.
" No! Forbiddion was removed from existance, and lives only in your memory! Unl..." Impazaeal 's eyes widened in horror. Forbiddion was never banished! No, it was simply sealed inside the beings that knew it's seduction best.
His ebon skin bathed in sweat as he cast his eyes back and forth, looking for Kami, knowing he had escaped his psionic attack as he felt the energy swim around him like some pool that only had one desire.
Death.
It was maddening, Impazaeal's eyes twitching in horror as he felt nothing but this killer intent. The Three sets of eyes promising nothing but that one fate, leaving no chance of escape as a simple cool edge against his throat sent the world swimming, and returning to normal, the trace of Forbiddion gone.
Kami smirked lightly, behide the demon with his knife held hard against his throat as the other hand held his forehead back, holding him still, the light of the star sapphire behide him.
" H..how ...For..." Impazaeal whispered, knowing that despite he could survive an attack, another use of his phlactery would leave him helpless for weeks, and possible able to face Oblivion, the dagger that surely existed now..
" In my castle, you scourged my brain for thoughts of that ancient evil. Despite the immense pain you created there while you ripped my memories, and ravished my own daughter's mind for the same thing, I regonized one thing. " Kami smiled, even as Impazaeal's eyes widened in regonition.
" Yes, I realized you were terrified of Forbiddion, regonizing it as a power that could destroy your own, and did according to what Forbiddion shared with me in those last moments. You feared any possible resurrection, and went to all these lengths to prevent it. I used your teror in a lil magicl spell of my own that awakens your worse fear, and since I have so much intimacy with that particular teror..." Kami sighed, his hand jerking cleanly as Impazaeals blood spilled upon the red carpet.
Kami glanced down as the body briefly went dim, the colors becoming greyer as if the color was slowly siphoned by something. His silver eyes glancing to the phylactery, as it dimmed, its energy being used to try to restore Impazaeal back to life.
Kami slowly walked up the steps, and took the other Star Sapphire within his hand. Deja Vu went thru him powerfully. The elf Kami picking up the jewel, and using it to become a Forgotten again.
To live forever with Zenra....the near immortal lif...
He stopped, nearly dropping the jewel as he glanced to the other. Already the psionic will of Impazaeal trying to decieve him , working his own desires subtley.
But the choice was clear, as his silver eyes closed as he made his wish, and both star sapphires turning to ash.
His silver eyes dim from a brief moment of sadness, truly desiring what he had once upon a time. And that road lead what he heard eariler. Something had happened to Hogoromo, and his elven forces would still need his help. He had attacked the Underdark to prevent the aid of the Dark Mistress in the forces attacking Hogoromo.
At least it still stands he thought, perhaps because of his efforts. So with a quick run thru the archway, not giving a thought to the mighty treasures left behide, he went to join the cleaning up of the Drow house.
" Zenra..."
