Subject: disbelief

 Horrified disbelief was written over the young shaman's face, she didn't know what to do or to say for several long moments. When she spoke she sounded like a lost child.

"Why? The elves have been our friends for as long as I can remember. Our love of nature and our nonagressive ways have made the elves our friends......why would they turn on us like this? What could we have done to enrage them so?"

Her fingers touched the arrow hesitantly and then her back stiffened.

"I need to cast a circle to see into the past. Can I rely on you Silverfox to stand outside it and keep any from disrupting me? I need to see the elves attacking and then I'll have to cast the circle again if I find something. The Queen of this place is polite and would not interfere but there are others who might and I do not have the strength to cast both a circle of seeing and a circle of protection."

The look she gave Silverfox was imploring, she was still afraid of the possiblity of a random Forgotten coming in the room and killing her simply because she was human. For the first time in her life she felt out of her depth, surrounded by a race that was currently hostile towards humans. And from what Silverfox said she might not have a home to return to.
