A small voice whispered to Dawnsfire that a trail of blood wouldn't be wrong, it would only be just payment to the elves for slaughtering her people. She ignored the voice, turning to look at Wyrd.

"It might be the best way in but as I said I do not trust you. Why should I? If Sir Wyrd is willing will you let him look into your heart and mind to see if your being sincere? I will trust his word if he says you are only trying to help."

She was leaving the joining of this elf up to Wyrd for two reasons. She trusted him and if this elf betrayed them it would most likely be him that tore her apart for it. Dawnsfire didn't want to shed unnecassary blood if she could avoid it.
