It seemed nearly impossible for a creature of Wyrd's size to be able to fit into the home of the archmage, but impossible was what Myuler and Wyrd seemed to do best. Vell only watched on in disbelief as he witnessed Wyrd do strange things to his father. Like reattached the old man's wings. It was a wierd sight. In Wyrd's claws, the detached limbs still moved and flexed on their own, without any body. The sight of it made Vell feel uneasy, and uncertain, but he should expect such things, concidering his old man.
"What in goddess' name is she thinking," Myuler mused as Wyrd just seemed to glue Myuler's wings back on. "Doesn't taht child realize that a ruler is nothing without the support of her people?"
"There are two sides to every coin, old one. She's in a great deal of pain."
Myuler flexed his wing, stretching it out to work it back to normality.
"It still doesn't give her the right to expell all those people. They did nothing wrong. Hell, I bet most of them even fought for their homes during the battle."
"Most of them did. But the girl sees betrayal everywhere. I saw into her heart. Only two people can stop her and neither one are here."
"I have a guess at which two those are." Any Myuler sighed again.
Wyrd finished reattaching Myuler's other wing, and moved back, bowing his head slightly.
"I am at a loss of what to do. I am sworn to this city, but I swore it under Zenra. That girl is demonstraighting loudly she is not as her mother, as she had once been. Whatever happened to her changed her."
Vell sat down on the couch, looking sideways toward Wyrd and Myuler.
"Can't you just...remove her? Until Zenra returns?"
Wyrd looked at Vell as though he'd just asked him a ludicrious question.
"And risk a confrontation with her uncle? I think not. That man is the only man that I fear."
"Then what can we do? We obviously can't trust her."
"We do," Myuler injected, "what we have always done. We deal with it. Running away from her isn't going to solve the problems here, and I'll not bloody my hands with her. That would only create more problems. And the queen would never forgive me. It's apparent that no one can talk any sense into her. The most we can do, is find that swan the guards are on about."
Vell shook his head. "And where the hell would we start?"
Myuler only chuckled. "The most obvious place one might find a water fowl. Near a body of water."
