Emi stayed there on her knees, a position of helplessness. She knew what Ryiln said was true, and it was only a matter of time before they all did turn on her.

But at the moment, she didn't care.

She didn't even notice Ryiln leave. It was a struggle of wills, two shards of the same piece of glass.

What am I doing.

I'm being crazy, is what.

No I'm not.

I needed to get rid of them all, so I can fix things.

How am I going to fix thing.

They already think I'm heartless for banishing everyone out.

It was for the best though, now things are simple.

But it's never simple.

And if they do turn against me what then.

The only thing you can do.

If they threaten you, you threaten them. If they strike at you, you come back on them ten fold.

But I don't want to hurt anyone.

But they will eventually want to hurt you, and if that happens, you'll have to kill them.

I can't kill them!

Yes you can. If they go against you, they that are loyal will do your every whim. You can kill them.

They're all expendable.

But you'll need an example. They need to know that you're serious.

But who? No one's done anything wrong.

Nothing wrong? That healer insights rebellion against you. Rebellion must be squelched.

But she's just a healer!

She has a powerful voice, and others listen to her.

Make an example of her.

Emi opened her eyes, and stayed staring at the ground. This was insane.

But who was she to go against popular belief.

Her eyes snapped up and she stood, both eyes locked on the door from which Ryiln had entered and eventually left. A small hiss issued from barely parted lips.
