She'd talked for hours with the female Filanon about it, learning that the Treechildren used the beads to send their arrows literally through the trees to strike at their targets. The beads however, once attached to an arrow could not be used for anything ~but~ an arrow. The ones Pan had given her would work only for her because they'd become attuned to her and would be just ordinary beads for anyone else. It was probably why Myuler had been forced to bargain for a set rather than just collecting them one bead at a time. Her empathic studies however..... She'd found that the Filanon shielded differently from the way she'd orginally been taught and because of it there were several things she'd had to unlearn first. It had been far from pleasant but she now had the basics of their version of shielding down. Like their trees the Filanon were able to feel what was below the earth as well as the roots of their trees and they grounded their shields in the deep into the metaphysical ground instead of holding their grounding within themselves. That had been the easy part.... the hard part was finding her center. By finding her center they didn't mean her center of balance though they agreed that it was close, the center they referred to was her emotional center and that had taken a long time to master. Once she'd figured out how to do both Pan had told her they would begin to work on her shielding. And that wasn't something she was really looking forward to. Pan had mentioned in a very offhand manner that he and a few others were going to try and rock her, emotionally speaking to see if her shielding was solid.... but that they'd only do that when SHE believed she was well shielded. That lessoning hadn't begun yet and with the rain pouring down she was almost certain that her friend was going to pop up and suggest they start....
