The noise of battle finally roused Dawnsfire from her slumber and terror settled around her. She knew that those fighting against the Forgotten people were her own kind... human. And she also knew that when the rage of those without had removed the threat at their gates they would turn their attention inwards.

She was human.

She was fair prey.

And she was terrified.

Sitting on the bed she stroked the soft feathers of her falcon friend before standing and walking to the open window. "Go....fly free Whitestar and return only when the arrows have ceased their flight. If you cannot find me return to the Clan..... they will care for you in my stead." she murmured to the bird before stroking his feathers a final time and launching him into the air. She watched as the small raptor soared higher than any arrow could fly, riding the winds with born ease. If the rage of the Forgotten's turned on her she didn't want to have her friend sacrifice himself to protect her. She was cold, but it wasn't the chill air that raised goosebumps along her skin, it was her own fear. Walking over to the bed again she sank down on it and began to block out everything, striving for a spot of tranquility amidst the storm of violence that raged outside. It did little to ease her troubled spirit.
