I remember when the days were long
And the nights when the living room was on the lawn
Constant quarreling, the childish fits
And our clothes in a pile on the ottoman

Things had been pretty average of late - not too much arguing with her daddy, D hadn't been home in like two weeks, and school was the same old bore. On this particular day, she was feeling rather passive, so at her father's request that she do some tidying up after she finished her argument while he was at work that night, she had agreed with only a little weak protesting. Any important assignments or reading that had to be done for the next day was done, so she was unenthusiastically working towards getting the house cleaned up. Black lounging pants comfortably tight and hanging low on her curvy hips, a sheer white long-sleeved tee was fit to her torso - moving around and with the fireplace on, she was warm despite the thin fabric of her clothing and the near blizzarding conditions outside. She had the stereo on as loud as she could without complaints from the neighbors and was perched on the edge of the couch as she flipped through television channels - of course she couldn't really hear the TV, but it was keeping her from having to clean just yet. Finally settling on nothing being on, she flipped it off and finally started in on her cleaning - tidying up around and then breaking out the vacuum. There was something almost therapeutic about it for her - like meditating. She cleared her mind and thought of nothing... For a while atleast. Eventually though, she was back to the usual inward ramblings that occupied her mind - questions about how her brother was doing, if he and Fiya were taking care of each other, and the ever-present wonder about what her Siah was up to that night, which tempted her to call him, but she didn't want to seem needy or suspicious or desperate...
