Catholic Women Speak on Past and Future Pope

Catholic Women Speak on Past and Future Pope
The female perspective on the legacy of Pope John Paul II and the future needs of the Catholic Church is critical, for women have significant presence within the Church. Women comprise an estimated 82% of employed chaplains and parish ministers in the U.S., and they volunteer in droves within their parish communities. Worldwide, there are 783,000 women religious serving the church’s 1.07 billion Catholics compared to 405,000 priests. However, the insights and wisdom gained from their experiences are not only absent from the priesthood, but they also have no voice or vote in the deliberations and choosing of the next Pope. Below are women in diverse Catholic positions who are eager to discuss the papal selection process, critical issues for the Church, and priorities for the future Pope’s agenda.
